Judith  Pfeifer




My name is Ms. Judith Pfeifer and I am the school counselor at Gilbert Elementary .

I have been a school counselor for over twenty years. I have a varied background in the field of education. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education , an M.S. in Curriculum , an M.S. in Guidance and Counseling and an M.S. in School Administration .


I love working with elementary age students and believe I touch the lives of every child each day at my school. I am always available to hear their story or provide assistance when they have a particular need. I also try to reach out to parents to provide them with needed resources or guidance in areas that need supportive services.


I wear many hats at my school . I teach the Guidance Curriculum which is developmentally appropriate for each grade level and are generally preventive in nature .

I teach the Six pillars of Character . My goal is to enhance student learning by providing supportive services in the class setting as well as individual and group counseling . I also provide coordination for major programs at my school which includes : Student awards, Red Ribbon Week , and Career Week , end of the year activities and Character Counts Week.


The counselor ‘s door is always open to support the needs of all students at Gilbert Elementary . There are some specific areas that I am able to help with . These topics include but are not limited to :


  • Getting along with others
  • Family transitions , i.e. Divorce, death/ illness , moving
  • Study skills
  • Self esteem
  • Anger Management
  • Organizational skills
  • Personal Responsibilities
  • Anxiety
