I am proud to say that I am a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2003! Whoop! For those who may not know, that means I attended Texas A&M University in College Station. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in December 2003.  A few years later I decided to return to school and I became a student at Our Lady of the Lake University. I studied there for two years and completed my Masters of Education program with a certification for Learning Resource Specialist.

I have a total of 12 years experience in education. I have been a self contained teacher in a 1st grade bilingual classroom in Bryan, Texas. I have taught in a Dual Language setting and I have experience in a second grade classroom as well.  My love however is the library. I have been a librarian for eight years.  I love helping students find books they are excited to read. Having students return a book to the library and enthusiastically tell me about their favorite part brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face. My hope for this year is to maintain a "revolving door" in the library with students consistently coming to the library to find books they are excited about reading. Making lifelong readers, that is the goal!

Just a few things about the "library lady" (what some of the little ones call me). I was born and raised right here in San Antonio. I am a proud Harlandale High School graduate. Go Indians! I am very excited to be working in Harlandale.  I hope to inspire students to recognize that they can reach any goal they set as long as they work hard and stay focused.
