In 2003 I graduated from UTSA with a bachelors in Anthropology with my focus on Latin American women.  While completing my degree, I had an article published in the American Anthropology Journal.  After the university I worked for 5 years and decided to pursue a degree in bilingual education.  I attended NorthWest Vista College and completed my teaching degree in 2011.

I started student teaching in the spring of 2011 for George Gervin Academy.  I worked through the summer to help with the summer camps the school was offering.  I was then hired full time in August of 2011.  I finished a very successful year at George Gervin and even qualified for a grant based on observation scores.  I was hired this year by the Harlandale district to work with the mighty mustangs at Gilbert Elementary.

I was born in Laredo, Tx, and my family moved to San Antonio in 1984.  I come from a close family.   We went to school in the Southwest district here in San Antonio.  I went to Palo Alto College and then graduated from UTSA.  I worked in retail for Walgreens for 5 years and during that time I went back to school to become a teacher.   I finished my bilingual education certification and started working for a charter school.  I was hired with Harlandale in 2012, and I love it here and I am very excited to work with the students in the community of Gilbert Elementary.
